Veteran lawmaker Carol Fukunaga has represented urban Honolulu for more than 20 years in the State House and Senate. Fukunaga has been a member of the Honolulu City Council since 2012. She represents Council District 6, which is made up of Makiki-Punchbowl, Pauoa Valley, Nuuanu, Liliha-Alewa Heights, Kalihi Valley, Fort Shafter, Moanalua, Aiea and Halawa Heights, Downtown-Chinatown and parts of Kaka’ako.
She advocates common sense county policies to address our biggest issues. Her top priorities include stemming the rising population of unsheltered homeless, developing affordable housing, tackling aging infrastructure, improving residential high rise fire safety, environmental sustainability and promoting a community that is respectful and forward thinking, with Aloha.
Councilmember Fukunaga is a proud alumna of the William S. Richardson School of Law, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Hawaii’s public school system.
