Councilmember Manahan and I recognized the Moanalua High School Cheerleading Squad and Symphony Orchestra with honorary certificates during Moanalua High School’s spring assembly on April 2, 2018. The MHS cheerleading squad earned first place honors in the Advanced Small High School Division at the 2018 National Cheer Association National Championships, and the MHS symphony orchestra received the title of Grand Champion and first place in the High School Full Orchestra at the prestigious American
String Teachers Association National Orchestra Festival.
Under the leadership of MHS alum and Cheerleading
Head Coach Blossom Caballero and Music Director Elden Seta, these two programs have seen perennial success in their respective fields: MHS cheerleaders have won five state championships during the past fifteen years, and MHS music department has performed in prestigious events around the world, such as in London, Japan, and Australia. Mahalo and congratulations again to Coach Caballero, Director Seta, and their students for their success on the national stage; we look forward to your continued success in coming years!
