On December 4th, I had the pleasure of delivering remarks during the Moanalua Senior Citizens’ Club’s annual Christmas luncheon. During the luncheon, I was honored to recognize the club’s three co-presidents: Jo Ann Tome, David Honjiyo, and Gene Agena for their hard work in organizing events and coordinating their members during the past year!
Established in 1980, the Moanalua Senior Citizens’ Club is one of the most active senior citizen clubs sponsored by the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation. Initially, the club was so popular that it had to cap its membership at 180 and had 182 residents eagerly waiting to get in due to the maximum capacity of its meeting space! Today, the Moanalua Senior Citizens’ Club has 127 members who meet on Mondays every week to socialize and have refreshments, as well as participate in bowling leagues and other outside activities together.
Mahalo again to the Moanalua Senior Citizens’ Club for hosting such an enjoyable holiday event!
