During the May 4th City Council meeting, I presented an honorary certificate to the Moanalua Lions Club in recognition of 55 years of service to the Moanalua community. Since its inception in 1961, the Moanalua Lions Club has been one of the most active community service organizations for the Moanalua area. Over the years, its members have volunteered in Moanalua’s community events, offered free vision and hearing screenings for elementary school students, provided community support for Moanalua families, and have been involved in countless service opportunities island wide.
Accepting the certificate on behalf of the Moanalua Lions Club were President Steven Onoue, Vice President Carl Takata, Secretary Kathy Higa, Tail Twister Guy Hashimoto, Zone Chair Miu Lam Oman, Senator Donna Mercado Kim, Representatives Linda Ichiyama and Aaron Ling Johanson, Director Kendrick Simmons, Director Pat Young, and members Carl Campagna, Grace Poulty, Jennifer Shintani, and Henry Maunupau. Congratulations to the Moanalua Lions Club, and best wishes in all future service endeavors!
